Steffen Wolfgang Thomas (German/ American (Georgia), 1906-1990). "Woman/ Still Life"- 1968, mixed media and encaustic on wood panel, signed and dated lower right. A two-sided original mixed media painting, one side in oils, wax, and sad depicting a stylized tribal figure at center with cubist features surrounded by bands and shapes in earth tones; the alternate side in wax and oils with an abstracted composition of two white round flowers with large green leaves potted in a terracotta planter and surrounded by geometric patterning in black filled in with vibrant hues. Overall approximately 30.625" x 30.375". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ann Jacob of Highlands, North Carolina.
