American School, likely early 19th century. "Portrait of Man with Rifle", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Figural portrait painting of man (possibly soldier, hunter, statesman) with rifle resting in his left arm and projectiles, likely rifle casings, in his right hand; with water canteen pouch and flag on table in background; with trees and blue skies visible in the distance. Framed approximately 29" x 24". Unframed 24" x 19". Provenance: Property of the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
