Ben Smith (American (Atlanta, Georgia), 20th century), "Mechanical Fortune Teller"-2006, giclee on canvas, titled, signed, dated and limited edition "2/5" noted lower right corner in black ink. Modern figural work depicting a mechanical man (bolts on neck, face and hands) wearing black and red hat with three upward horns wearing long red and black robes with ruffled collar, holding a masquerade mask on long stick, point to opposite hand with hear in palm beside diamond, club and spade in lower right corner on textured white ground, industrial gears at left coming out from side of hybrid figure. Unframed approximately 40" x 40". Provenance: From the Private Collection of the Artist, Ben Smith of Atlanta, Georgia.
