Print depicts London viewed from the north, with Saint Paul's Cathedral in the mid-ground and fields near the foreground, with inscriptions at lower left "Caneli Delin", lower center "Published according to Act of Parliament 1753" and " North View of London / Vüe Septentrionale De La Ville De Londres", lower right "Stevens Sculpt." Framed approximately 15.6" x 20.9". Sight approximately 9.4" x 14.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia. Note: This work may have been published by Robert Sayer (English, 1725-1794), the print publisher responsible for issuing an engraving by John Stevens (English, active from 1740) in 1751, together with a dozen other London views after Canaletto. The print was republished in 1753, and again in 1793 by Laurie & Whittle (English, founded 1794).
