Richard Joseph Anuszkiewicz (American, b. 1930. "Der Spiegel Portfolio: Six Seriypien" - 1965, six serigraphs on Schoellers Hammer Karton paper board, limited edition of 125 (edition numbers noted on the series' colophon, not individual works), published by Galerie Der Spiegel (Koln, West Germany), each pencil signed lower right. A complete series of six Optical art silkscreen prints by protege of Joseph Albers and important member of the American Op Art movement Richard Anuszkiewicz, each of the six works of square format depicting overlaid geometric shapes and patterns in red, green, blue, teal, and purple. Verso of frame of "No. IV" with original gallery label from International Galleries, Chicago, Illinois. Each framed approximately 28.25" square. One examined out of frame: sheet size approximately 24.375" square. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia. Note: other editions of this work reside in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Tate Galleries, London. Lot does not include clamshell case or colophon.
