Italian, 18th century. A carved Baroque Period cupboard or cabinet converted to a drop front desk, the rectangular form raised on two brackets with scrolled decoration to interior edge, surmounted by two hinged doors flanked by panels all bearing arcaded inset panels centered with rivets, the doors opening to reveal a single compartment with shelf, surmounted with apron with center rectangular drop down segment flanked by square panels, altogether surmounted by single plank wide top with conforming center section lifting up to reveal an interior with shelf. Approximate height 42.625", width 47", depth 14".
