French, early 19th century. Louis XV style upholstered and paint decorated daybed or sofa, the serpentine molded ends and backrest having a centralized floral carved cresting with removable mattress, the front rail similarly decorated. The whole covered in red toile secured with decorative nailhead trim with additional pills and bolsters. Back rest is not attached to bed. Approximate height 40.5", width 83", mattress/seat depth 43", mattress/seat height 16.5".
