Regence style carved chestnut open bergere or armchair with rounded accent on top crest of rectangular back with double nail head border throughout tapestry upholstery with chrysanthemum floral motif, matching fabric on elbow arm rests and shaped seat. Arms with rocaille or shells with scrolling and bellflowers, serpentine apron carved with scrolled foliates and lattice carved medallions, overall supported on cabriole legs with shell carved knees, leaf tips and scrolled toes. Overall approximate height 43", width 27.25", depth 24.75", seat to floor 17".
