Gilded Sheet Copper Quill Pen Weathervane, possibly Harris & Company, c. 1880, the quill with molded feather detail and spire on ball finial, lg. 36 in. Provenance: This weathervane was taken from a schoolhouse near Ephrata, Pennsylvania, that was torn down in the 1940s. Literature: Weathervanes, Three Centuries of a Pennsylvania Folk Art Tradition, p. 35, no. 33. Exhibitions: Weathervanes, Three Centuries of a Pennsylvania Folk Art Tradition, PHMC Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, March-December 31, 2016.
