Paint-decorated Wooden Works Tall Clock, Riley Whiting, Winchester, Connecticut, c. 1820-40, the hood with crenellated crest above a tombstone opening and white-painted dial with an urn in the arch and lettered with the maker's name, above a waist with molded rectangular door, all on a cutout base, painted red overall with pinwheel, sun, moon, and tree decoration in yellow, (imperfections and alterations), ht. 90 in. Estimate $800-1,200 base appears to have been cut and then reassembled, hood with missing elements from crest, dial worn. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
