After Gabriel Metsu (Dutch, 1629-1667) Hunter and Young Woman in Front of Her Dressing Table Unsigned. Oil on cradled panel, 9 x 6 7/8 in. (22.7 x 17.3 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch including to left side along a line of uneven craquelure (or possibly over a thin crack to the panel), craquelure overall. N.B. The painting at hand was probably copied after the print by François-Robert Ingouf (French, 1747-1812), due to the fact that the composition is reversed from Metsu's original. Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $400-600 Framed dimensions are 17 3/8 x 15 3/8 x 1 1/4 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
