Conrad Kiesel (German, 1846-1921) Portrait of Young Beauty, c. 1900 Signed "C. Kiesel" l.l., date provided by the consignor. Oil on panel, 12 x 10 in. (30.5 x 25.5 cm), framed. Condition: Scattered retouch, minor paint losses and surface scratches, abrasion to the background c.r. edge. N.B. Kiesel was a full member of the Royal Academy. His works have been honored several times with the Golden Medal at the Berlin Academy exhibitions. He was also represented in the exhibitions of the Academy in Dusseldorf, the Munich Glass Palace, the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, the annual exhibitions 1872, 1891 and 1892 in Vienna, the Royal Academy of Arts in London in 1909 and the 1911 World's Fair in Rome. Kiesel's works are well represented in many museum collections. Estimate $300-500 Framed dimensions are 19 x 17 x 2 1/4 inches. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
