Blanc-de-chine Brush Washer, China, possibly late Ming/early Qing dynasty, rounded dish-form with concaved shoulder decorated with incised Buddhist emblems, resting on a bisque foot ring, glazed interior, ht. 1 3/4, mouth rim dia. 2 7/8 in. Provenance: Mary Andrews Wolff Collection since 1994, purchased from Alister Simpson, London; then by descent to the present owner. Estimate $300-500 minor glazing flaws with some clay impurities around mouth rim, firing cracks to the interior, some surface scratches.
