Fire Gilt Figural Clock, France, c. 1840, Cupid sits atop the clock holding a mirror for a classically dressed woman, his bow and arrows and jug of wine below, panel with griffins below the dial all on a plinth with a row of dancing putti, supported on claw-and-ball feet, engine-turned bezel around the 4 1/2-in. enameled roman numeral dial marked "Griebel Rue Vivienne No. 13," large unmarked time and countwheel strike movement with silk thread suspension, ht. 19 in. Estimate $600-800 Clock currently ticking and striking. Dial in good condition and free of chips with on small hairline. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
