Walnut Chest-on-chest, Pennsylvania, late 18th century, upper case with stepped molded cornice above five short and two long thumb-molded drawers, set into lower section of three long drawers, both cases with flanking ring-turned quarter-columns, all on ogee bracket feet, ht. 72 1/4, lower case wd. 42, lower case dp. 21 in. Estimate $1,000-1,500 Upper section: upper right hand drawer has a 2 in by 1/2 patch, lowermost drawer has a tiny triangular patch in the upper right hand corner, shrinkage crack beneath the cornice molding on the left side; bottom section has a shrinkage crack on the right side, couple of patches to the thumb molding in the drawers, base is original, but pieces have been reattached or are present, section of replaced molding at bottom of chest, brasses appear to be original.
