Liverpool Transfer-decorated "The Farmer's Arms" Jug, Herculaneum Pottery, Toxteth, Liverpool, England, late 18th century, one side with the farmer's arms, the other with a rural cottager scene, the front with a spreadwing eagle over "HERCULANEUM POTTERY," and verse below the handle, with gilt decoration on the rim and base, ht. 10 1/4 in. Estimate $800-1,200 Wear to gilding, but no obvious chips, cracks, or evidence of repair. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
