U. S. Model 1842 Percussion Musket, c. 1849, .69 caliber, walnut stock with light cartouche mark, steel fittings, lock marked "SPRING/FIELD/1849," breech has light proof marks, barrel lg. 42 in. Estimate $500-700 Stock has a few dings and nicks, steel has had some cleaning, and the lock functions properly. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
