Early Albert R. Valentien (1862-1925) Rookwood Pottery Pitcher, Cincinnati, Ohio, 1888, glazed earthenware, impressed signature, date, and number to underside "Anchor mark/Rookwood/36/ARV," ht. 7, wd, 8 in. Note: Valentien was born in Cincinnati and attended the Cincinnati Art Academy. In 1881, at 19, he began working at Rookwood is now regarded as one of their most accomplished artists. Estimate $400-600 Good condition. No visible damage or repairs. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
