Marcia Lewis Shoulder Bag, Long Beach, California, 1974, leather, silver-plated metal, linen, rayon, ht. 11, wd. 9 1/4, dp. 2 in. Note: Lewis is best known for her chasing technique, in which metal is ornamented using hand tools. Her jewelry is inspired by animal forms, including birds and fish, as well as art from other cultures. She teaches metalsmithing, jewelry, and craft at Long Beach City College.
