Jacques Rigaud (French, 1681-1754) Two Military Prints: Ouverture de La Tranchée: Represantations des actions les plus Considerables du Siege d'une Place and Comment l'on soutient et repousse les Sorties Titled and signed "J. Rigaud Jn. Sculp." in the plates, stamped "DOUBLETTE DER ALBERTINA" within a shield shape (Lugt L.5f) on the reverse. Etchings on laid paper, images sizes to 8 x 16 1/2 in. (20.4 x 42.2 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Trimmed close to or at the plate marks, minor toning, foxing, and handling creases, brown paper tape remnants along the top of the reverse. N.B. According to Lugt, the collector's mark (L.5f) was applied to duplicate prints from the collection of the Albertina in Vienna, sold starting in 1922.
