Four Staffordshire Historical Blue Transfer-decorated Plates, England, 19th century, including dinner plates of "MacDonnough's Victory," "America and Independence," and a marked Wood & Sons "Cadmus" plate, and a "The Landing of the Fathers at Plymouth" soup bowl, each approx. dia. 10 to 10 1/4 in. Estimate $300-500 States: brown discoloration on reverse, very minor rim roughness and minute chip, 1 1/2 fine hairline crack on the bottom of the plate, no knife marks; McDonough: yellowed on reverse, otherwise good, no knife marks; Ship: yellowed on reverse, no knife marks, otherwise good; Plymouth: a few knife marks but otherwise good. No evidence of repairs or restoration. Very little utensil wear. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
