Wedgwood Rosso Antico Egyptian Inkstand, England, early 19th century, modeled as a ship with a griffin's head at the prow and crocodile head at the stern, black basalt motifs in relief, with three fitted wells, two flanking a central canopic jar/inkwell, impressed mark, lg. 12 in. Estimate $1,000-2,000 Restoration to griffin; to one well, to small chips along ship rim and to canopic cover. Small chips to ship rim. Missing candle nozzle at one end.
