One volume octavo in half leather with marbled boards, single illustration ("Oliver plucks up a spirit") as a frontispiece, no advertising pages, double columns of text throughout, the front cover and pastedown with advertisements for Henry & William Rowsell's Circulating Library, King Street, Kingston, [Ontario], title page and end page with Rowsell's circulating library stamps, (wear to covers, frontispiece u.r. corner torn, title page with stains, minor foxing throughout, occasional inscriptions), 9 1/4 x 5 3/4 in. Note: Henry and William Rowsell opened a lending library in Kingston, Ontario, in the late 1830s that lasted until about 1842. Estimate $200-300 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
