Attributed to William Trost Richards (American, 1833-1905) Coastal Scene. Signed or inscribed "Wm. T Richards" l.r. Watercolor on paper, sheet size 8 3/8 x 15 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Sheet laid down on paperboard support, which appears to be original. Provenance: Potomack Company, Alexandria, Virginia, Live Auction, June 13, 2015, Lot 72. N.B. The location of this scene is reminiscent of the Rhode Island coast. Estimate $300-500 Framed dimensions are 16 x 22 x 1 1/2 inches. Supporting sheet with foxing on the reverse and abrasions from an earlier mounting on the margins of the front. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
