Inlaid Mahogany Ellicott Signed Longcase Clock, possibly John Ellicott, c. 1795, pierced fret hood above the stop-fluted reeded freestanding columns, composite brass roman numeral dial signed on chapter ring "Ellicott/London," pierced iron hands, silvered seconds, calendar aperture, strike/silent in the arch and matted center, fan and cross banded inlaid decorated mid and lower sections, all resting on ogee bracket feet, eight-day time and hour strike mechanism, regulated by a pendulum and powered by two iron weights, ht. 97 in. without finials. Estimate $1,000-2,000 fret and feet old replacements, losses to inlay throughout, mellow finish. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
