Carved Oak Quarter-chiming Hall Clock, possibly John Ellis and A. H. Davenport case, exaggerated arch-top hood with floral carved decoration above the four-column treatment flanking the composite brass dial, applied gilt arabic numerals on the silvered chapter ring, engraved center, moon's phase in the arch, chime/silent, and tune selection subsidiary dials, full-length waist door flanked by reeded columns, resting on a stepped and carved molded base, eight-day, three-train movement with chimes on eight bells and eight gongs, regulated by a brass-faced pendulum and three brass-cased weights, ht. 101 in. Estimate $1,000-2,000 poplar secondary wood, the base is separated from mid section, small chip of oak off the base of the hood which is present and needs regluing, hour gong and nest of gongs are currently not attached to case, original winding key. 2-in. wide section missing from back of hood.
