Pair of Archaic-style Gilt-metal Ritual Jars and Covers, China, flattened oviform with circular neck and mouth, two applied masks with loose rings on shoulder, the body engraved with a phoenix design and inlaid with red and turquoise blue beads, the cover knobbed with a ring, ht. 19 1/2 in. Estimate $600-800 loss of gilt and silver, tarnishing to silvered areas, spotty rusting, some patinas, heavy soiling particularly to the interior.
