Gilt-copper Alloy Figure of Maitreya, Sino-Tibet, seated cross-legged on a double lotus throne, hands in dharmachakra mudra, painted details, hollow base, ht. 6 1/2 in. Provenance: A private collection acquired some time ago from several New England galleries. Estimate $600-800 extensive gilt losses, traces of broken details including her right earring ornament and ribbons of her robe, some dents to lotus base, some patinas to interior of the hollow base.
