Asian, likely Southeastern, late 19th century. Hand carved and stained traveling Buddhist devotional pocket shrine box in the form of Buddha's head with coiled urna on top of head above face with rounded cheeks and chin, eyes closed in devotion, hinged case opens to reveal devotional figures within carved in relief (one seated, the other with multiple arms--possibly Heruka). Unmarked. Overall approximate height 4.1", width 2.8", depth 2.8". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. Woody Cobbs and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia.
