A painting on thick fibrous organic material, possibly a fragment of a thangka, depicting 13 figures dressed in heavy drapery bearing haloes and united in a clouded heavenly setting, these figures likely a depiction of the 13 Buddhist Guardians from the Epic of King Gesar dating to the 12th century. Fragment approximate height 8.75", width 15.75". Framed approximate height 12.875", width 19.875".
