(84.5 x 143.0 cm), framed (in a period liner). Condition: Scattered retouch including a small area in the trees u.c. corresponding to a canvas patch on the reverse, fine craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: Private collection, Brookline, Massachusetts, c. 1921; private collection, St. Louis, Missouri, by descent, 1964; private collection, Blonay, Switzerland, by descent, 2000; gifted to a private collection from the above, 2006; Christie's, New York, Interiors, Sale 2862, Lot 100, June 24, 2014. Extremely subtle stretcher bar mark to center (primarily visible in raking light), extremely minute loss to pigment to l.l. corner beneath the signature and pinprick pigment loss near the left center edge, minute canvas protrusion to u.l. corner (see condition photos for further details).
