Menard" l.l., with a canvas stencil from Paul Foinet Fils on the reverse, and with a fragmentary label from Buffalo Arts Academy, Albright Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York, affixed to the back of the frame. Oil on canvas, 36 x 50 7/8 in. (91.0 x 121.5 cm), framed. Condition: Scattered abrasions, varnish discoloration, surface grime. Provenance: A private New England collection. N.B. Situated on the south coast of Sicily, the Temple of Concordia in Agrigento is the largest and best-preserved Doric temple in Sicily and one of the best-preserved Greek temples in the world.
