Cecil Everley (British/American, 20th Century) Coin du Village Signed and dated "C. Everley '81" l.l., titled in an inscription on the stretcher and on an unattributed label affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 15 x 18 in. (38.0 x 45.7 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. N.B. Artist and bon vivant Cecil Everley painted the landscapes surrounding his homes in California and the south of France. He began painting in 1953, and his works were acquired by many of his high society friends, including the Aga Khan, Princesses Grace and Caroline of Monaco, Greta Garbo, Greer Garson, and Estée Lauder. Estimate $800-1,200 Frame dimensions: 16 x 19 x 3/4 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
