Pair of Satsuma Openwork Flask Vases, Japan, Meiji period, flattened oval form with straight neck and lotus-inspired rim, on a short stemmed foot, each side decorated with legendary figures in a banded oval panel, unsigned, ht. 13 in. Estimate $600-800 trace of repairs to the mouth rim of one, firing cracks to some areas, surface stain. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
