(Columbus, Ohio), US model, circa 1860 staff and field presentation sword with cast metal guard with eagle, shield and floral decoration surrounding black leather and wire wrapped handle connecting to engraved blade with maker, flags, "U.S", scrolled foliates, and eagle with Latin text "E PLURIBUS UNUM". Length approximately 36.5". Provenance: Estate of Mr. Charles Edward Brodnax "Ned" Hansell, Mimosa Hall, Atlanta, Georgia.
