Neoclassical Mahogany- and Tulipwood-veneered Commode, probably Italy, early 19th century, top with central floral medallion, conforming decoration on sides, three long drawers, the two lower with inlaid depiction of "Leda and the Swan," ring pulls, squared tapered legs ending in spade feet, ht. 34, wd. 46 1/2, dp. 21 in. Estimate $1,500-3,000 Refinished, age cracks to top and sides, drawers partly rebuilt and lined. Repairs to carcass. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
