American School, 19th Century Twilight View of Plymouth in Snow Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 17 1/8 x 24 in. (43.2 x 60.5 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, retouch to the edges of the canvas. Estimate $400-600 Retouch around the perimeter of the front is very limited and not over 1 inch in depth anywhere along the edge. The stretcher bears some kind of notation which appears to be a series of numbers, not clearly a date. The frame bears incised maker's stamps of a capital L within a diamond outline, as well as a label from F.W. Bayley & Son, Copley Gallery, Boston, on the back. Framed dimensions are 21 x 28 in.
