Gen Paul (French, 1895-1975) La Galette des Rois Signed "GenPaul" l. r., titled and signed ".../Gen-Paul" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 28 3/4 x 36 1/4 in. (73.0 x 92.0 cm), framed. Condition: Scattered areas of craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: Purchased in 1972 from Galerie Hervé Odermatt, Paris; by family descent to the current private collection, Vermont. Estimate $15,000-20,000 A shipping label from Arthur Lénars & Cie Transports Internationaux, Paris, is affixed to the stretcher bar, and there are several stamps (possibly from customs) applied to the reverse. An unidentified label affixed to the stretcher bears the inscription "sarlie." Framed dimensions: 38 x 45 1/2 in. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
