Renou Magician Automaton, France, bisque head impressed "1" with straight neck, open mouth, large blue paperweight eyes, pierced ears, cork pate, left bisque hand holding the lid of a die-shaped box that rests on velvet-covered base, going-barrel movement playing one air, dressed in a velvet peach-colored jacket with lace sleeves, ht. 15 1/2 in. Estimate $2,000-3,000 music box and portions of the mechanism function but needs cleaning, lubrication and adjustment, lacking wig, one eye needs adjustment.
