John Duvall (British, 1816-1892) Bay Hunter in a Stable Setting Signed "J Duvall" l. r., identified on a presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 15 7/8 x 19 7/8 in. (40.5 x 50.5 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, scattered retouch. Estimate $700-900 Framed dimensions are 21 x 25 inches. Multiple small dots of retouch throughout the background with a small line (3/4 inch) on the horse's flank and also in the backgound to the left of his head. A 4-1/2 inch broken diagonal line of retouch in the background above the horse's hind quarters and tail, the surface of which is visible in raking light.
