Chrysler, Jr., France, c. 1925, the square marble top with cut corners inset in onyx with a pattern of interlocking devices, raised on angled legs composed of rouge marbles interspersed by pierced gilt-bronze circles with conforming brackets and centering a lower marble shelf inset with onyx panels, ht. 31 3/8, wd. 20 1/2 in. Provenance: Sotheby's, The Estate of Walter P. Chrysler, Jr., Important Art Nouveau and Art Deco, New York, June 16, 1989. Estimate $2,000-3,000 There are four chips to the top edge. One has been ground smooth. The table is loose with some play. The original plaster corner reinforcements that secure the top to the legs has some loss on three corners and is completely absent from one corner.
