Flask Identified to Captain George B. French, Adjutant of the 4th Vermont Volunteer Infantry, c. 1864, pewter flask marked on the bottom "JAMES DIMON & SONS/SHEFFIELD/1383," pewter cup marked "Capt. G.B. French/4th Vt.," overall ht. 5 1/4 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Note: French enlisted on August 28, 1861 and was discharged on September 20, 1864. He was wounded on May 5, 1864, at the Battle of the Wilderness. Estimate $200-400 In overall good condition. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
