Beach, 7th US Cavalry, c. early 19th century, iron hilt with leather grip, steel blade and scabbard, blade lg. 34 1/2, overall lg. 41 1/2 in. Provenance: The collection of Ron Tunison. Note: With the sword is a note that states: "sword from the collection of Colonel Francis H. Beach, U.S. Cavalry, (Ret) presented to Mr. Ron Tunison by Colonel Beaches Great nephew, Lt. Col. Keith B. Hubbard, U.S. Army Infantry (Ret) July 4, 1997." Beach served in the 1st, 7th, and 3rd Cavalry. Estimate $300-500 Some wear on the grip and leather loss, the blade has some dark spotting.
