Bone-handled Knife, c. late 18th/early 19th century, silver pommel and counterguard, carved bone grip, and steel blade with a single fuller, in a wooden box with an attached note that states "BRITISH OFFICER'S KNIFE/picked up on the battle-/field by a local resident/after the Battle of/Brandywine, Sept. 11, 1777," blade lg. 8 5/8, overall lg. 12 3/4 in. Estimate $300-500 Blade has some light pits but in overall good condition. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
