British Pattern 1853 Enfield Rifle Musket, c. 1862, .57 bore, walnut stock with small "CSA" stamp on the left side opposite the lock, brass buttplate and nose cap, steel fittings, lock plate marked with a crown on the tail and "TOWER/1862," breech marked with proofs and "Co. G 28 PA VOLS," barrel lg. 39, overall lg. 55 1/4 in. Estimate $800-1,200 Stock has some dings and nicks, the CSA and 28th PA markings are spurious, steel has some pitting, and the lock functions properly.
