Blydenburgh & Giles Surveyor's Compass, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, mid-19th century, 5 1/2-in. engraved silvered dial marked "Blydenburgh & Giles/Maker/Philada," eight-line rose with fleur-de-lis representing north, blued needle, bubble level and outkeeper, housed in its original mahogany box with label reading in part "Blydenburg & Giles Mathematical Instrument Makers at the Nautical Store."
