English Schoolgirl Sampler, 1818, in a variety of stitches and colors including green, red, buff, and black with bands of alphabets above stylized flowers and with a central cartouche of a religious verse with birds and peacocks below, signed and dated "Jessy Croall Aged 10 Years May 22 18," sight size 11 3/4 x 14 3/8 in.; set in an ebonized and giltwood frame.
