Pershing, John J. (1860-1948) Signed WWI Memorial for Private William J. Doyle, 1918. Official U.S. Army issued certificate with printed text, fulfilled by hand, signed by Pershing, with a small photograph of Doyle pasted at the bottom, 11 3/4 x 8 in. Private Doyle, a member of Company B, 165th Infantry, was killed in battle on July 28, 1918.
