Two Memorial Medals for the 3rd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery and 188th Pennsylvania Infantry, c. late 19th century, a medal with a top ladder bar with laurels, a blue and yellow ribbon, and an eagle and flags over a shield marked inside "1861/IN MEMORIUM/THE THIRD PA HEAVY ARTILLERY/AND/188TH REGT PENNA VOLUNTEERS/1865" with a coastal artillery scene, and a medal with a top ladder bar with laurels, a red and blue ribbon, and an eagle and flags over a shield marked inside "1861/IN MEMORIUM/THE THIRD PA HEAVY ARTILLERY/AND/188TH REGT PENNA VOLUNTEERS/1865." Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $200-400 Both in good condition with some loss to the blue section of the ribbon on the second medal.
