English-made Dirk, c. 1850-63, silvered grip with foliate designs, blade marked "CORSAN/BENTON/BURDEKIN & CO" on the ricasso, blade etched with an eagle and "VOLUNTEER," with scabbard (tip missing), blade lg. 4 3/4, overall lg. 9 1/4 in. Provenance: The collection of Nicholas A. Penachio. Estimate $700-900 Knife is in good condition, scabbard is missing the tip.
